Hi all, I'm Stacey. I am a licensed attorney in the state of Illinois specializing in family law. My professional experience in family law began in law school where I spent a substantial amount of time as a law clerk for a top-tier boutique family law firm in Chicago, Illinois. After law school, I worked for the same firm. As a law clerk and associate attorney, I gained extensive experience working on a myriad of cases varying in complexity.

My personal experience with family law began as a young child. I am a child of divorce and a survivor of domestic violence. As a result of my family’s journey, I learned the power of financial independence, education, and that investing in yourself is the greatest investment you will ever make. My experiences inspired me to pursue a career where I would be able to fight for and give a voice to those who are impacted by divorce and domestic violence.

My combined personal and professional experience led me to create Better Not Broken. I believe that all relationships, especially marriage, are an investment - one which every person must try to approach with as much information as possible to mitigate risk. Trust me, when it comes to relationships, your heart is not the only thing at stake. The more information you have prior to tying the knot, the better prepared you will be. My goal is to set clients up to go into marriage (and divorce if need be) with eyes wide open, and to have the tools to and mitigate the impacts of financial abuse.
